engines.
Tools required:
- Second Opinion engine oil test kit
- Pen or pencil
- Paper towel or shop cloth to clean disptick
- Latex gloves (recommended)
Time required :
- Time to warm up engine, if required
- 2 minutes for sample
- 2 hours up to 6 hours for oil absorption
1. Take a warm engine oil sample
- Pull dipstick from warm engine, wipe clean and return to engine.
- Write mileage/date on top edge of test card and place on level surface near dipstick area.
- Pull dipstick and allow one drop of oil to fall onto the center of test card. NOTE: If oil doesn't fall, lightly touch oil drip to card long just enough to get a sample.
- Lay the card flat until the oil is absorbed.

2. Interpret your test
- Wait two (2) hours before inspection. Best results seen after six (6) hours.

Your vehicle will have its own oil test signature. Consult your technician
or email Norris.
3. Monitor your results
- Perform an engine oil test 3,000 miles after you change your oil.
- If the oil tests clean, then perform another test every 1,000 miles until you see signs
of oil exhaustion.
- Track your vehicle usage (long trips vs. in-town periods) and mileage
along with your test results. Get to know your vehicle's oil test signature.
- Discuss any adverse test results with your technician.
