Testimonial about a Pre-purchase Inspection Service
Norris,
Just wanted to tell you how appreciative I am of the service you provided
me a couple of weeks ago when I was trying to decide whether to purchase
a used car from a private owner in Denver. Your choices are very limited
when you live in Grand Junction and are trying to find a specific vehicle
that is a one owner from a private party especially when you’re
looking for a newer 4 wheel drive Jeep that hasn’t been off-roaded too
much. This is nearly the epicenter of off-road over here as we’re
only two hours from Moab.
Anyway I was looking on Craigslist and not finding anything over
here so I knew I was going to have to look in Denver. I also knew if
I found something over there it would be a time consuming and expensive
project and it was, but it could have been better if I had known about
your service first. My wife and I found a vehicle in south Denver that
met our specifications but not having a family member “over
there on that side of the mountains” who could look at it and
report back required me to get up at 3:00 AM on a Sunday morning leave
Grand Junction by 5 and get to south Denver by 9. Test driving and inspection
by me (a mountain bike but not auto mechanic) took about an hour. This
put me back in Junction by 4PM. It was a very long, tiring and expensive
drive.
The vehicle only had 27,000 miles and the price was good but I was concerned
about some rust underneath and a rough idle. I’m intelligent enough
to know that I’m not intelligent enough to know enough about a
vehicle to keep from making a $20+ thousand dollar mistake so I knew
I would need a mechanic to check this thing out even though my wife thought
from looking at pictures in the on-line ad that "it is a very nice
looking vehicle and we should just buy it".
I saw three ads on-line for mobile mechanics in Denver including yours
and was saving the phone numbers in my cell phone at about 6AM the Monday
after returning from Denver. My plan was to call each place later in
the day during business hours. Saving these phone numbers in my cell
required me to call them and let it ring once to capture the number.
I mentioned to my wife that I wished that other people would start business
at 6AM or sooner as I frequently do and lo and behold as I had my mouth
full of tooth paste and brush my phone rings about 6:15 and it was you
returning my call. I was impressed and hired you on the spot especially
when you came in $50 under the other mobil mechanics.
Later that day I called the seller and made arrangements for you to
see the vehicle. I then discussed with you concerns that I had about
it that I wanted to make sure you looked at. Your schedule was very flexible
and you were able to look at it as soon as the seller made it available.
This also was very impressive because as my wife and I found out
when you’re looking for a very popular vehicle, as a Jeep in Colorado
is, it can suddenly disappear having been bought out from under you by
another party.
After test driving and inspecting the Jeep you immediately made your
first impressions known to me by phone and later the same day I received
several emails with pictures of blemishes and concerns that I hadn’t
even noticed. I felt like I was getting a better view of the vehicle
by email pictures than by spending the money and time to actually be
there myself. One of your concerns that you pointed out to me was that
the front end was out of alignment and you were able to tell this by
looking at the tires. I had driven the vehicle and could not tell this
as it was a very windy day and in a 10 minute test drive I didn’t
pick up on it. I don’t have enough savvy to tell this by looking
at tires. Anyway I brought this up to the seller and he paid for a front
end alignment. The cost of this almost entirely covered your fee.

Testimonial about trusting your technician
Norris:
At last! I found a shop that absolutely cares about the customer, the
car, and the true meaning of customer service! My little 9.5 is running
like a dream, now. The difference in its performance from the day that
I bought it, to the day I picked it up, is incredible! I didn't realize
the real performance I was missing when I drove the car for the first
few months.
Never having experienced the Saab feeling, I was a bit naïve when I first drove it. It felt fine. It drove nicely for a used car (2000). I thought, "This is really a nice car". When my "check engine" light went on, I took it to a dealer's repair shop to check it out. I dropped the car off the night before, expecting to hear from them sometime the next morning. No word by noon. I went into a couple of meetings that afternoon with still no word from the dealer. By 5 pm, I had a co-worker take me to the dealer to (or so I thought) pick up my repaired car. When I got there, I was informed that I wasn't "in the computer" and they had no information for me. I was beginning to think that my car had been stolen. Someone found it in the parking lot and quickly plugged it into the dealer's diagnostic computer. The technician (read, salesman), after approximately two minutes of diagnostics, impatiently told me that this and that was wrong, and that it would cost $X. Oh, and I had to leave the car for another day. I declined, not because of the cost, but because of the poor customer service.
Then I found you. To begin with, my initial phone conversation lasted
about 10 minutes. We talked about the car, sure, but we talked about
other things. I'm thinking, what's with this guy? He actually takes the
time to make a new friend? I was impressed enough to make an appointment.
The diagnosis was complete, accurate, and fair. The repairs were not
cheap, but certainly fair. Most importantly, I pulled out of your shop
feeling that I had made a good investment in the car and in the repairs.
My experience with Norris was pleasant and comfortable. But the car??...
I couldn't believe the difference in my little Saab's performance! What
had I gotten myself into, here? All of a sudden, I found myself driving
a thoroughbred that simply wanted to run! And run she did, once I got
her onto the highway! The sensation of controlling such a beauty was
incredible and exhilarating. Not only had my 9.5 found new life, I felt
pretty cool and young myself. I'm taking her up the mountains this weekend,
just to see how she'll do on the mountain curves. Can't wait.
To you guys, thanks. I finally found a shop I can trust.
